Non-Destructive Tests (NDT) of Oilfield Equipment; Instrumentation Services

For a number of years, SOMGEIS, being a branch of OAO Sibneftegeofizika, has been providing NDT services on oilfield and drilling equipment. Key components subject to NDT tests include bail, swivel, crown block, elevators, drill pipes, and other drilling equipment.

Typical defects:
• crack boundary identification;
• loose matter identification;
• wall thickness gauging; and
• internal blister identification.

Ultrasound is a primary method for non-destructive tests, although gamma-ray tests may be promptly arranged if need be.

Instrumentation services involve the maintenance and calibration of downhole pressure gauges (such as MGN-1, MGN-2, etc) and other instruments.
